Michael Haggiag received his B.A from Columbia University where he was first introduced to life drawing, art and photography as well as the philosophy of aesthetics. After a brief stint as a photojournalist, Michael settled in London where he co-founded Aurum Press, an independent publishing house specializing in art and photography, and promoted such icons of Swinging London as David Bailey and Helmut Newton. After Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Really Useful Group bought Aurum, Michael went into TV production. He started with short films for Sotheby’s and later, as Global Arts Productions, made award-winning drama, documentaries and children’s films, mostly for BBC TV and ITV. In the last decade Michael has returned to his own art, using photography as a meditation on perception. He has exhibited his work in Rome, New York and Miami and has been given one-man shows in Italy as well as at the Freight & Volume and Ca’D’Oro galleries in Manhattan.
